June 3rd is the ride date. 70 miles with what else at the end? Texas BBQ. Check the Event Calendar for more information.
Daylight Savings Time – Day 4
What a relief to be able to ride in the evening after work in the daylight. Enough mountain bike with full lights on the side streets and bike trails. With the spring temperatures riding is a pure joy. The miles should start to gain momentum. I am now seeing other bikers emerge from the dark hibernation of winter. I am suffering withdraw since I am not able to watch European racing on OLN due to Dish Network pulling OLN in a tiff with Comcast over hockey rights. Who cares about hockey when the spring classics racing season is cranking up. I want to see Tom Boonen power it out with Alessandro Petacchi in the sprints. Oh well, I’ll have to catch the news on www.cyclingnews.com or www.velonews.com.
New May Ride, New Feature
A new feature has been added to the event calendar: a Google Map link to the ride starting city. Check out the first ride with this feature, the May 9th Rampage in the Redlands ride in San Augustine, TX. This feature can be a link to finding directions, hotels and local point of interest.
