The Lufkin City Council at its meeting Tuesday unanimously approved a funding request to complete the hiking/biking/walking trail at Kit McConnico Park. The request for funding for $8,000 came from the Deep East Texas Trail and Route Access Coalition (DETTRAC), and the money will be given from the general fund of the city budget.

The TBC is cranking up their volunteer recruitment program. Their first meeting will be March 27th at the Texas Bicycle Coalition office: 1902 E. 6th St. to discuss the program and opportunities available over the next few months.
