Texas woman will bike 700 miles to honor late brother and raise fentanyl awareness

Jeannette Krupp doesn’t consider herself a cyclist, but she’s biking 700 miles from Texas to Missouri to raise awareness of substance use disorders and life-saving interventions like Narcan.
“When I ride every mile, I ride in memory of somebody,” Krupp said.
Krupp is the founder of nonprofit Stay Strong Krupp, launched in 2019 after a cousin died of fentanyl poisoning and her brother was struggling to stay sober. After a lifetime of seeing her hometown of Owensville, Missouri, “destroyed” by methamphetamine, she felt like she had to act.

$25K worth of bikes stolen from Austin recreation center

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin recreation center is grappling with thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property after thieves targeted it early Sunday.
Numerous bikes were stolen from the Lorraine “Grandma” Camacho Activity Center Sunday morning, the recreation center shared in a Monday Instagram post. The bikes taken were used as part of the center’s cycling programming, including youth cycling, summer and spring break camps, youth biking sessions and other outreach efforts, a spokesperson for the Austin Parks and Recreation Department said.

UT-Austin students complete 4,000-mile bike ride
After nearly traversing the entirety of the United States and Canada, the end was finally in sight. On Aug. 2, the 20th annual Texas 4000 team biked the final 48-mile leg of their 4,000-mile journey from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska, to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

LimeBike resumes operations in Dallas, introduces adaptive bicycles for people with disabilities

LimeBike has resumed operations in Dallas, and in addition to the traditional scooters seen around town, Lime will provide electric vehicles and adaptive bicycles for use by persons with disabilities at no charge.
