SAN ANTONIO – A 68-year-old woman riding a bicycle was hit and killed by as many as two vehicles on the city’s South Side early Monday morning, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were called just before 2:30 a.m. to a convenience store near Southton Road on Loop 410.

Area teen remains hospitalized after bicycle collides with truck

(Guadalupe County) – A 14-year-old boy remains hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike along a road in Guadalupe County.

Sgt. Kenny Mata with the Texas Department of Public Safety says the accident occurred just after 4 p.m. Fridayon FM 1044, north of Youngsford Road.

He says preliminary investigation by DPS Troopers indicate that a Ford E-350, driven by a 33-year-old male, was traveling southbound on FM 1044 when it collided with a bicycle ridden by the teen.

Ride for Hope raises about $8K for Camp Hope

Nearly 100 riders took to the streets of Hawkins County Saturday morning to enjoy a little exercise, beautiful scenery and fresh air for a good cause.

The event long known as Ride Like Hale was a major fundraiser for the former Chip Hale Center, which closed in February.

The bicycle tour fundraiser was such a popular event, however, previous organizers and volunteers suggested that Camp Hope take it over.
