MOUNTAIN BIKING LOCKHART TEXAS STATE PARK: A Small MTB Park but Pretty Fun!
Just Me MTB | www.youtube.com
Worked a week in the bush doing archaeology around the Lockhart area, and saw the trails here at the Park, so I brought my bike for some afterwork rides. Rained out on the first two attempts, but had a cool third attempt. There are 6 nice fast and flowy downhills here but they are quick. The area is pretty and I look forward to hitting em again in cooler weather. I did make a noob orientating mistake and …

We started this morning’s ride from Joshua Springs Park a little north of Boerne, and then headed to Comfort to do “The Wine Loop.” Some extremely strong and fast cyclists were there this morning, and the group was fairly large with about a dozen riders. I was doing the best I could to “sit in“ and draft to conserve energy since I rode last night. Crafting doesn’t help too much when you’re trying to climb a hill, though!? Darren Kruse, Kent Froelund, David George and I got a little separated from the group near the Shell station in Comfort, so we just stayed together from that point back to Joshua Springs Park. As always, I am thankful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for saving me both spiritually and physically enabling me to return to this sport that I love. I thank Him for Kelly Betsinger as well as for another safe ride with a bunch of great men (and women) without any mechanicals or flats.
A fairly large group as we headed out Big Joshua Creek toward Holiday Road.
