HOUSTON – The Houston Police bike relay team is on their 42nd year, trekking across the country all in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This year, the 19 riders are making their way to Pensacola Beach, Fla. They will take turns cycling more than 1,700 miles over the next few days. As a team, they’ve raised more than $85,000 for this journey. …

YMCA of Pueblo to host Texas 4000 for Cancer riders

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The YMCA of Pueblo will be a host site for the 2024 Texas 4000 for Cancer bike ride participants on Sunday, June 9.
Texas 4000 is the world’s largest charity bike ride, the YMCA will be hosting approximately 30 bike riders on Sunday and is set to arrive at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Once there, the YMCA will host Texas 4000 participants for dinner on June 9 and for breakfast the following morning.

Council Approves Complete Streets Policy, Discusses Bicycle Parking Standards

The City Council voted to adopt a Complete Streets Policy for Richardson at Monday’s City Council meeting. The Policy details the City’s commitment to developing a comprehensive multimodal transportation system and was recommended by the League of American Bicyclists as one of several steps for Richardson to achieve the organization’s Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community status. The City is in the process of completing its Bicycle Friendly Community renewal application, having received Bronze status in 2015 and 2019.
