Disability-inclusive bike camp begins in Wichita Falls

Camp still looking for volunteers to participate

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The iCan Bike Camp began at the Bill Bartley YMCA – Isaiah 40:31 Sports Complex on Monday morning.

The Miracle League of Wichita Falls, The Buddy Walk of Wichita County, and the YMCA of Wichita Falls are excited to host this inclusive camp from June 3 to June 7.

This camp is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities learn to ride conventional two-wheel bicycles.

The organizations involved are asking for volunteers to join. Those interested can contact Jason and Janell Stewart at miracleleagueofwichitafalls@gmail.com to get involved. …

San Antonio parks see improvement in national report

City is ranked 53 out of 100 most populous cities in US; up four ranks from past report

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio has improved its park system ranking among the 100 most populous cities nationwide, a new report from the nonprofit Trust for Public Land (TPL) shows.

The report published in May suggests that across the 100 most populous U.S. cities, “residents of cities with the highest ParkScore rankings are more socially connected and engaged with their neighbors than those with lower-ranking park systems.” …

Intro to Mountain Biking

Join us for a fun outdoor adventure in nature at BLORA.

Jun 22 2024, 12 pm – 3 pm

Participants will learn bike/safety basics (gear shifting, types of terrain, wildlife, tips, etc.). Staff will then lead them on the green trail starting at the high ropes course. The green course consists of about 3 miles of trails. This will take approximately 3 hours.
