Single mother’s bike accident highlights need for safety features in Victoria

Jessica Vasquez rode her electric bike evening to her job as a baker to provide for her children as a single mother of four. However, an accident on North Ben Jordan Street has left her physically unable to work for over a month.
Her experience highlights a need for enhanced pedestrian infrastructure within Victoria, which may come in the near future. Some experts believe the city is going in the right direction.
“We need bike lanes,” said Vasquez, 43, of Victoria. “Not everyone has a vehicle.”

Texas officer completes 157-mile bike race, raising funds for Multiple Sclerosis

AUSTIN, Texas — Officer Erik Hinterlach, of Austin, Texas, recently completed the Texas MS 150 bike race, a two-day event spanning 157 miles, and raising over $2,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis cause.
