Texas’ Lone Lift-Served Mountain Bike Park Adding New Trail
Zander Lingelbach-Pierce | www.bikemag.com
The hills of Texas are not the first place most people would expect to find a ski lift. And yet, in the hill country, you will find Spider Mountain Bike Park, the only lift-served bike park in the state.
On January 11, 2024, the park announced it was expanding. See pictures of the construction below.
This new trail, which has yet to be named, will hopefully open on February 9th for Spider’s Hill Country Downhill series. Though little info has been given, based on …

Southern Tier El Paso to New Orleans
By Cortney O. | www.crazyguyonabike.com
Day 1: El Paso to Fort Hancock: Tailwinds, Pecans, and Small Burritos Friday January 12, 2024, 51 miles (82 km) – Total so far: 51 miles (82 km) We woke up to calmer skies in El Paso. Yesterday we had a huge wind and dust storm blow through so we opted to be safe and sheltered. But now we head out on Section 3 of the Southern Tier. We decided trying to get to Sierra Blanca in one go would be too much. So Fort Hancock and it’s one lodging establishment will have to do.

Fort Bend County DA’s office buys e-bikes for new pedestrian, cyclist safety programs
By Kelly Schafler | communityimpact.com
The Fort Bend County district attorney’s office officials hope the purchase of two electric bicycles will help further the county’s mission to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
At the Jan. 9 Commissioners Court meeting, Fort Bend County commissioners approved the DA office’s request to purchase the e-bikes using funding from its asset forfeiture fund, which comes from property seizures made in criminal investigations, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Although other law enforcement agencies have begun implementing two-wheeled fleets, it’s a …
Better Promise Me I’ll Be Back In Town Boerne, Texas
Brent Wells | strava.com
INSANELY windy, but still dry and I got off work early enough to get a little ride in. I left from #MyOldShop in Boerne once more, and I’m actually hoping to some day be back here permanently.????? I better get some rest because I’m supposed to go on a group ride leaving from Comfort tomorrow! Glad we’re getting these rides in before the blizzard is supposed to hit. ? As always, I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for saving me both spiritually, and physically thus enabling me to return to this sport that I love, and I thank Him for another safe ride with zero mechanicals or flats.
