70 Degrees Lasted One Day. Back To Zwift Watopia Sugar Cookie
The 70 degree weather lasted one day. When I woke up this morning the wind was strong and the temperature slowly dropping from 63 degrees. It is January. This meant today’s bike ride was going to be in Zwift. I was thinking ahead a couple of days ago on which route to ride and the Watopia Sugar Cookie came to mind. The 24.2 miles was long enough and I thought my legs would power me up the 846 feet elevation gain. That happened today. In November I rode this route twice. As the ride progressed I thought today was going to be slower than those two but it turned out it was faster, enough to get the Strava PR on Sugar Cookie (1:19:49) plus two others: 2nd fastest time on Epic KOM – Start to Bypass Intersection (10:17) and 2nd fastest time on Epic KOM Bypass – Westbound (4:42). I thought climbing the Epic KOM I was going slow. I was out of the saddle whenever the gradient hit 8% or more.
The profile on Strava flattens out the Epic KOM and SportTracks seems more representative.
