Reaud family and friends gift Christmas to more than 1,000 children
Getting ready for Christmas is a gargantuan undertaking for the family of Beaumont attorney and philanthropist Wayne A. Reaud, as the family-fueled Reaud Charitable Foundation undertakes the massive task of bringing joy and presents to 1,000 children – or more – every year in Southeast Texas. Through the “Bicycles and Bibles” program, which has grown exponentially over the last two decades, tens of thousands of children in Southeast Texas have spent Christmas morning with a brand-new bike to ride and a brilliantly-illustrated children’s Bible to read of the Good News that Christmas signifies.

Court records show 19-year-old Alexis Acevedo was arrested and charged with two felonies following the deadly crash.
AUSTIN, Texas — A man is in custody after a deadly crash involving two vehicles and a bicycle in northeast Austin.
Police say 19-year-old Alexis Acevedo was allegedly driving along East Parmer Lane and Harris Branch Parkway on Dec. 12 when he crashed with a second vehicle and a bicycle.
According to Austin police, Acevedo allegedly ran from the scene while the other driver stayed and cooperated with authorities. The man on the bicycle, identified as 31-year-old Ashton Hutchison, died at the scene. …

Volunteers will be added to the front gate list and have their land use and camping fees waived.

Camping – there will be plenty of space to put up a tent in the camping area if you want to camp out. There is a shower facility that volunteers will have access to.

Parking – Park at the volunteer shed or in the general parking areas. If you are camping, you can drive in and park next to your campsite.

Food for volunteers. Saturday Breakfast – usually breakfast tacos and coffee. Saturday Lunch – sandwiches, snacks, and water will be provided. Saturday Post-race meal – TBD.
