Winter isn’t the time when most people expect to see new trail updates, but in Texas, that’s the prime season for digging. Spider Mountain, a bike park 60 miles northwest of Austin, Texas, boasts a bold claim of being the only year round lift access park in the United States.

Decked in helmets and hoodies, Santa hats and tinsel, a group of almost 20 bicyclists made the gradual climb over Scenic Drive on Wednesday night.
They parked their bikes at the main overlook point on Franklin Mountain, taking selfies with the glittering backdrop of El Paso and Juárez lights, before continuing their ride. The 15-mile trip ended with a posada and toasty fire pit at El Paso Vintage Bicycle Shop.

Bike donation made to annual ‘Christmas Blessings’ program

Waste Connections’ management team recently came to Carthage to spread some holiday cheer. Each year the employees at Waste Connections donate funds to purchase bicycles for the “Christmas Blessings” program sponsored by the First Methodist Church and Mission Carthage.
They were able to collect enough money to provide 21 bicycles plus riding helmets. They also get together and make sure all the bicycles are assembled and ready for the children to ride.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – More than 640 combined bikes and scooters were given away by Men Making Moves in Navasota on Saturday.
There was quite a crowd in the Navasota High School parking lot.
President and Founder of the non-profit Men Making Moves, Earnest Jefferson, said it was a wonderful turnout.
There was face painting, pickles, soda, water, chili dogs, cotton candy, and snow cones.
More than 200 door prizes, including two 43-inch and two 32-inch TVs, were also given away.
This second annual Christmas Bike and Scooter giveaway was free to all children, regardless of where they live.
Jefferson was previously presented with a Be Remarkable award.
