Strava PR On Zwift’s Makuri Islands Wandering Flats
After riding in Watopia lately I switched to Zwift’s Makuri Islands. But to ride there I created a personal meetup. I chose the Wandering Flats route which is 15.6 miles with 476 feet of elevation. I wanted to ride more miles so I set the meetup at 22 miles. I wasn’t sure how that would impact the elevation so I checked the elevation around 7 miles into the ride and added that to 476 making my guess less that 600 feet. I wasn’t too far off with the actual at 587 feet and distance 22.12 miles. Compared to my road routes that average around 100 feet elevation this is a lot more climbing. The big climb started around 20km with 10% + and i was out of the saddle to get up that. The Wahoo Kickr Core trainer increased the resistance. It is more stable when I’m out of the saddle than the Kickr Snap on wheel trainer. I set a new Strava PR on Wandering Flats (57:42). My record is not close to the KOM leader but I am happy with my result.
