Just Missed 200 Mile Week. San Jacinto Bayou Greenway On Sunday
Day Light Saving time ended early this morning. I didn’t really think about too much until the end of the bike ride when I noticed the sun was lower than I expected. Last Sunday I rode on the San Jacinto Bayou Greenway and I repeated that again today but on a different route, Kingwood – San Jacinto Bayou Greenway – Oakhurst. I continue to enjoy the easier pedaling on my Lynskey Helix since I cleaned the chain and waxed it. The crank turns so much easier. The began at 1:42 PM after I got home from church and got ready and finished at 3:40 PM. I rode 25.94 miles. I should’ve .35 miles farther and it would’ve been a 200 mile week combing Zwift and road rides. I’m ahead of the pace to reach my 360 mile goal for November at 27% of the way there, 97.9 miles.
Weather for the ride: Start 79 degrees, humidity 62%, dew point 64.5, mostly cloudy, wind S 6 mph; Finish 79 degrees, humidity 61%, dew point 64.2, mostly cloudy, wind S 6 mph. No additional clothing required, just my normal summer kit: shorts, short sleeve jersey, and arm sleeves.
Top results from Strava: PR on Northshore Sunrise (3:45) and 3rd fastest time on Super Secret 4×4 Shortcut (1:04).
