Too Much Tech. Community Drive – Cumberland – Oakhurst Bike Ride
The last full week of October rolled around and I did too. I went over several routes in my head for a place to ride and settled on the Community Drive – Cumberland – Oakhurst route. I don’t normally ride this route at the beginning of the week but why not. In the video I say I’m riding my Cervelo Caledonia but that’s wrong. I rode my Canyon Endurace bike starting at 10:47 AM. I need to move up my start times about an hour. Today I was distracted setting up my Motorola Razr+ 2023 phone so it would push email notifications to my Wahoo Bolt 2 computer. It wasn’t working until I changed my email app to Gmail and they starting working. Yea!!
Weather for today’s bike ride was great. Lots of sun, the wind was light from the southeast but later picked up to 14 mph making the ride back from Cumberland hard on my legs. I worked hard to keep my overall average speed at 13.6 mph into the headwind. The previous 7 bike rides on this route averaged about 34.5 miles and today I rode 35.83 miles. I think the increase was at the start and riding through Brooklyn Trails. I used the 35×13 gears the most according to the AXS.SRAM.com ride report. I finished at 1:46 PM. Weather: Start 82 degrees, humidity 76%, dew point 74.1, mostly cloudy, wind SE 7 mph; Finish 86 degrees, humidity, 61%, dew point 70.6, mostly cloudy, wind SE 14 mph.
Strava top result 3rd fastest time on North by Northpark (1:53). The tailwind helped some.
