Outfitted with brooms, dustpans, work gloves, trash bags and electric leaf blowers, a few dozen volunteers spent Saturday morning cleaning a bike trail near Chartres Street in downtown Houston.
Volunteers swept the short stretch of multimodel lane beneath Interstate 69 clean within a couple of hours. The city reopened the trail, which was fenced off prior to the pandemic because of a large homeless encampment, on June 22, according to Marika Mohr with BikeHouston. …

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – TxDOT is holding a public information meeting Thursday, July 27 regarding work planned for FM-1179.
This project could impact residents traveling between Boonville Road and Easterling Drive. TxDOT plans to have designs to show residents at the meeting and will be available for questions.

I get weird things in my head, so today’s weird thing was riding until my distance and temperature numbers were the same. Mission (mostly) accomplished. Couldn’t make the decimals align. Yes, it annoys me, too. Also lost 2 mph on my average over the last 40 miles or so. I’ll blame it on the greenway, certainly not on my weak, old legs.
