Big ass hills: Lost Maples Campground to Camp Wood
Saturday April 22, 2023, 38 miles (61 km) – Total so far: 1,759 miles (2,831 km) The ACA map said that today’s segment would be difficult. How right they were! I had three big climbs on the agenda for today, but alas a few campers came in late, then started drinking and were a bit noisy. Always happens to me. I didn’t feel as rested as I would have liked, but it did not deter me from getting the job done today. Great turnout, a bit chaotic, a heated confrontation with a motorist, and an unfortunate spill that prompted a 911 call. Just glad I survived,
