Shared scooters and bikes are about to return to the streets of Dallas.
It’s the result of more than two years of planning after up to 10,000 of the shared vehicles on the street proved to be a nuisance for the city.
There were shared bikes in 2017 and 2018, then shared scooters from 2018 to 2020 before the city ordered them removed.

Downtown Round Rock park project on May ballot would expand Brushy Creek trail

Round Rock residents may have a new downtown-area park to visit, pending the results of a bond election.
The Lawn at Brushy Creek was approved for design by officials March 9. The project could extend an existing trail down Sheppard Street/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way toward central downtown as an expansion to the Brushy Creek hike and bike trail, and solve stormwater issues by providing options for water detention and water-quality management.
Officials awarded a $277,834 contract to design firm Dream Workshop to begin creating the schematic master plan for the park. City documents state the design will help plan out the use of greenspaces owned by the city for the park, as well as land required for Heritage Trail, which would run through the park. Man killed by falling construction debris near UT Austin campus, APD investigating

Austin (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it is investigating a death allegedly caused by a falling object from a high-rise construction project in the West Campus neighborhood.
An APD incident report said a call for a deceased person came in to dispatch around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in the 2400 block of Rio Grande Street.
SafeHorns, a private group of UT Austin parents, students and faculty that advocates for safety around campus, tweeted Friday about the death, asking witnesses to contact authorities and family attorneys with what they saw.
