An inside joke among some students appears to have gone too far.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Veo, a mobility company that provides Texas A&M students with different methods of transportation, has appeared in the news for — oddly enough — not being fully grounded; and the vice president of Student Affairs has had enough.
While the service is used by many Aggies to cross a school as large as A&M, some students have chosen to leave the service’s bikes and scooters in odd places.
If you drive around College Station, you might find a stray Veo ride seemingly abandoned on the side of the road, clearly not where it’s supposed to be parked.
However, that’s not where …
Meet the 11-year-old student-athlete named Houston going viral for large mural in downtown
By Erica Simon | abc13.com
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — If you’ve been in downtown Houston lately, you may have noticed some larger-than-life murals on the sides of buildings and businesses. The little boy depicted on a bike at the corner of Prairie and Main has gone viral, and inspired people of all backgrounds.
ABC13 tracked down the little Third Ward legend.
"How do you feel seeing yourself on the side of a building?" we asked. The 11-year-old Houston Atlee said, "Good. Like, I’m on Google. I searched myself up in math class."
Atlee may be soft-spoken and humble, but he has every reason to brag. He makes all A’s and …
Memorial Park land bridge opening prompts call for better bike access
Adam Zuvanich | www.houstonpublicmedia.org
A cyclist looks to cross Washington Avenue just north of Interstate 10 in Houston. The tall trees in the distance are part of Memorial Park.
Thousands of Houstonians visited Memorial Park last Saturday for the grand opening of 100 acres of prairie as well as two land bridges that cross over Memorial Drive. The new amenities, which took about two years and $70 million to construct, provide enhanced mobility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists within the city’s largest urban green space.
So the unveiling was especially appealing to cycling enthusiasts. More than 300 people took advantage of a bicycle valet service offered by BikeHouston, a local cycling advocacy nonprofit.
And according to BikeHouston executive director Joe Cutrufo, the hottest …
BikeHouston asking Memorial Park for more accessible paths for those who enjoy biking
By Lileana Pearson | abc13.com
800 people have signed the change.org petition asking city leaders and planners to finally make the park accessible by extending bike and walking paths from the bayous.
HOUSTON, Park (KTRK) — Memorial Park is a hub for people to walk, bike, and get moving, but getting to the trails inside the park can be tricky unless you’re willing to drive.
Some park visitors are lucky.
"It’s wonderful being so close to the park. It gets us out. It gets us moving," Colleen Mahan said.
Mahan lives blocks from a pedestrian-friendly Memorial Park entrance.
But many, even those who live close enough, must get creative if they want to enjoy the park amenities. …

Oh my goodness, I had completely expected to ride with a group of guys leaving from the city park in Comfort this morning, but everybody bailed at the last minute because of the weather. I was very blessed to be able to ride with the Cyclones group who were riding to Floresville and back from Espada Park. I jumped in my truck, and had it not been for Google maps, I never would’ve found my way there. Of course I am extremely thankful to the gentleman who came, but mostly thankful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for healing me, and enabling me to return to this sport, that I love, and for yet another safe ride
I couldn’t believe there was actually an old railroad bridge out here, so I basically insisted that we had to stop and take a group picture? thankfully all of the gentleman who were super kind, gladly obliged.

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Edinburg has broken ground at the city’s hike-and-bike trail as crews prepare to make lighting improvements along the existing trail.
Edinburg’s hike-and-bike trail is located between Freddy Gonzalez Drive and Cano Street within 7th and 8th Avenue.
At the Cenizo Park groundbreaking Friday morning, crews began installing 115 solar lights and reflective pavement markings at the intersections along the corridor.
The lighting upgrades are a collaboration between Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization project funded by the Texas Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program. …
