ATASCOCITA, Texas – A 7-year-old was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in an Atascocita neighborhood Thursday, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.
It happened in the 13600 block of Valley Lodge Parkway and Stark Sky Lane in the Eagle Springs subdivision in Atascocita.
According to Herman, a white Toyota Corolla struck a 7-year-old child that was riding his bicycle. EMS and the fire department were at the scene and the child reportedly sustained minor injuries, Herman said.

BOULDER, Colo. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – PeopleForBikes, a national bicycling advocacy organization and the U.S. bicycle industry’s trade association, announced its latest round of community grants totaling $92,000. The 11 projects funded in 2022 will support bicycle infrastructure and advocacy projects across the U.S.
PeopleForBikes’ Industry Community Grants Program is funded through the Employee Pro Purchase program, which collects donations from individuals who work in the bike industry and take advantage of pro-pricing discounts on new bikes and bicycling equipment. Cannondale and Trek currently participate.
Since 1999, the PeopleForBikes Industry Community Grants Program has funded more than 400 projects in all 50 states totaling more than $3.6 million in direct funds. The total funding this year represents more than 1,000 individuals in the bike industry who gave back to grow bicycling through an employee pro purchase. …

Round Rock PD searching for driver who struck child on bike and left the scene

The Round Rock Police Department is looking for a driver who hit a child on a bike and then fled the scene earlier this week.
The incident happened around 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1600 block of Red Bud Lane. EMS transported the child to the hospital.
Police said the vehicle is described as a black BMW and the driver is a Black woman.
Anyone with information is asked to contact RRPD at 512-218-5500.

HARKER HEIGHTS — A total of 33 new bicycles and helmets were delivered this week to Skipcha and Harker Heights elementary schools in addition to Eastern Hills Middle School.
Dennis McAffee, community services sergeant and Crystal Thomas, community services officer, of the Harker Heights Police Department, delivered the bicycles Wednesday to the three schools in Harker Heights.
