Rock-N-Ride welcomes 200 cyclists to Cleveland

The Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce hosted its Fifth Annual Rock-N-Ride cycling event on Saturday, Nov. 14, during a break in this weekend’s rains. Despite the chilly weather, close to 200 cyclists turned out this year, much to the relief of the organizers who have been planning for the event for months.

Family of Houston cyclist killed by dump truck files wrongful death suit

HOUSTON — The family of the late Breana Powell has filed a wrongful death suit against Republic Waste Services and are seeking more than $1 million in damages.
Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner partner, Mo Aziz, and attorneys, Karl Long and Jessie Ormand, together with Derrell Wright of the Law Office of Derrell L. Wright, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of Diane Francis, individually and as representatives of the estate of Breana Powell. The lawsuit names Republic Waste Services of Texas, LTD, RWS Texas Leasing, Company, LLC, BFI Waste Services of Texas, LP., Republic Services, Inc., Republic Waste Services of Texas GP, Inc., and Jonathan David Woods, as defendants.

These Are the Most Bike-Friendly Colleges in the U.S.

Last week, The League of American Bicyclists released its list of 37 officially recognized bike-friendly universities in the U.S. The list has been running since 2011, with some schools opting to get the award once, while others renew the designation every year by submitting the ways that the school has improved bike infrastructure since the last application. To date, 221 universities have received this award.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – An athlete from the Brazos Valley is going to Germany to represent the country in the Special Olympics.
Allison Dohrman, a member of the Road Rascals Special Olympics cycling team in College station is joining the U.S. team for the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. She is the only female cyclist going from the state of Texas.
Seven thousand athletes from around 170 countries will be competing in 24 sports events. The event will be made possible with the help of more than 3,000 coaches and 20,000 volunteers.
