Dallas Is Pedaling Toward a New Citywide Bike Plan

The city of Dallas has a Bike Plan—but it was written in 2011. Now, after creating 67 miles of bike lanes across the city, Dallas is working on an updated bicycle master plan that lays out future bike and roadway improvement needs.
“We want to build connected bicycle routes that help you safely get from your home to your work, school, parks, and other destinations,” the city said in a statement.
Plans include an updated Bicycle Network Map, updated design standards for bicycle facilities, and a phased implementation roadmap that identifies “quick win” priorities. …

FWBikesy is a brand-new exhibit featuring a fleet of painted Fort Worth bikes — thirteen original creations along with several new works that inspired the pedal-pushing partnership. Bell has been celebrated for his use of color, bold strokes and exaggeration, which will all be on display in two-wheeled form.

We will be building berms, rerouting a segment away from river rocks, and building some advanced "A-lines" along the rocky bluffs. Thursday November 3, 2022, 50 miles (80 km) – Total so far: 1,577 miles (2,538 km) We started out in the mist today. Very foggy as we left the cabin and immediately encountered a killer 2 mile hill. What a way to start the day! Luckily, we had our red blinkers going, and there wasn’t much traffic. Once we got to the top, it was rolling hills on a high plateau. Then as the fog lifted we descended into the Guadalupe River Valley. There are many draws along the way, and they don’t build bridges over them. Instead, you will see a sign that says “Dip” and you will drop down into the draw, where they have poured concrete ramps for the flood waters to flow across the road surface.
