Back From Watopia To Ride Outside
After three days in the Zwift Watopia world I was back on the road for today’s bike ride. The weather warmed up to 71 as I rolled out on the ride at 10:52 AM on my Cervelo Caledonia bike. With the help of the plentiful sun I warmed up. Since it is Thursday I decided to ride my Atascocita – Walden – Huffman route with a short extension to Spanish Cove Drive on FM 2100. I finished the ride at 1:37 PM covering 35.64 miles.
I wore shorts, a long sleeve poly T-shirt, and a short sleeve jersey on top. That was a good combination because it was a little chilly in the shade. The wind was from the west which brought the warmer temperatures today. This made for an easy ride to Huffman but harder on the way back across Lake Houston. Weather: start 71 (humidity43%, dew point 47), fair, wind W 8 mph; finish 79 (humidity 38%, dew point 51), fair, wind W 12 mph.
Checking the AXS.SRAM.com ride report I used the 35×13 gears for 1:39:25 (23.6 miles), and the 35×15 gears for 38:08 (8.1 miles) with 17 RD changes.
