SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 40s riding a bicycle was hit and killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s far West Side late Wednesday night, according to San Antonio police.
The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 9100 block of Culebra Road, not far from Arcadia Creek and Grissom Road.
According to police, the bicyclist was struck by a vehicle while he was riding in the street. The driver however, did not stop after the crash. The man hit was pronounced dead by emergency crews at the scene.

A man riding his bicycle was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash on the far West Side, according to San Antonio police.
Authorities said the man was hit by a vehicle in the 9100 block of Culebra Road near Arcadia Creek at around 9:30 p.m. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Culebra Road is one of the most dangerous in the city, according to a recent Express-News story. In the last 10 years, more than 40 people have died in car crashes on Culebra. …
Bicyclist killed after driver intentionally hits him with vehicle following fight, Galveston police say

GALVESTON, Texas – A driver is facing charges after he allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist with his vehicle on purpose following an argument in Galveston Wednesday evening, Galveston police said.
Roy Gonzales, 60, has been charged with murder in the death of 32-year-old Cody Compian, according to the release.
Witnesses told police that both Gonzales and Compian were reportedly involved in an argument that turned physical near the intersection of 32nd Street and Avenue R. At some point, Gonzales, in his vehicle at the time, struck both Compian and another bicyclist. He attempted to speed away from the scene but officers were able to quickly detain him, police said.
Compian was taken to UTMB in Galveston where he later died from his injuries.
The other bicyclist was treated and released for minor injuries.
Gonzales is currently being held in jail on a $750,000 bond.
