Some Vultures, Cooler Temperature, No Invasive Plant Pulling
When I got up this morning a little after 6 AM I checked my home weather station and saw the temperature was 69.9, the lowest it’s been since spring time. It did take long for it to warm up to the 70’s though. No invasive plant pulling today to delay my start time, just paying bills. I rode my Cervelo Caledonia bike to begin the ride at 9:16 AM choosing my Kingwood to Ramsey Road – Huffman route thinking it would add 36 to 37 miles to my week total. Instead it added 39.17 miles because I added some extra streets before leaving Kingwood. Now my week totals 84 miles and the month rides total 187 miles towards my 720 mile goal. This was the 6th time biking this route this year. All but one ride was 39 miles, the odd one was slightly less. I finished the ride at 12:23 PM. When I reached Ramsey Road I took a short break before biking back to FM 2100. It was quiet except when a high flying jet began the approach to Bush Intercontinental Airport.
The weather has moderated from the super hot and dry days of June, July, and early part of August. Weather conditions for the ride: start 80 ( humidity 85%, dew point 75), a few clouds, wind calm; finish 87 (humidity 64%, dew point 73), partly cloudy, wind S 9 mph. No salt stains on my bike clothes today.
