APD asking for help finding suspect vehicle in north Austin hit-and-run

AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Department (APD) is asking for the public’s help finding the suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run.
Police said on July 27 around 9:46 p.m., officers responded to the 10300 block of Burnet Road for a hit-and-run in north Austin.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was riding his bicycle north on Burnet Road when a vehicle hit him from behind. The driver fled the scene heading north without attempting to check on the victim or call 911 for assistance.
The victim suffered severe, life-threatening injuries. …

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Cyclists are also gearing up for the Hotter’N Hell Hundred and that includes riders for Special Olympics Texas Area 9.
This organization represents the Special Olympics region of Wichita Falls. Members have been riding in the Hotter’N Hell Hundred for the past 10 years, and they’ve been preparing for the past few months as they look forward to the 25-mile endurance race.
“It makes you feel like you’re in a dream, you know, it’s just top of the world, you know what I mean,” Ronnie Baker, Area 9 Special Olympics Texas cyclist, said.
Riders from all over the world come to Wichita Falls for the Hotter’N Hell Hundred race, including professional cyclists, college riders and even Special Olympics organizations.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Bikers from around the world are getting ready for the annual Hotter’N Hell Hundred and it’s only a couple weeks away.
The event brings a lot more than just bikers to Wichita Falls. It also brings business to local restaurants and hotels.
Lindsay Barker, Convention Visitors Bureau director, she said the outcome of that is a boost in the economy, something business owners are of course looking forward to.

Houston – Twenty members of KPRC 2 Insider are invited to join Bill’s Brigade and help with one of the biggest Spencer Solves It efforts yet.
On Monday, Aug. 15, Insiders will help assemble approximately 100 bicycles alongside KPRC 2 staff members and on-air personalities for refugee children who fled with their families from Afghanistan one year ago.
These families were forced to leave everything they own and everything they know when Kabul fell to the Taliban last August.
They were brought here by the U.S. government to protect their lives, because many of them had helped U.S. forces in Afghanistan.
