A petition with more than 600 signatures calls for safer bike lanes across the city.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In response to the release of the City’s proposed budget, one local woman raised concerns over what was not included.
It is an issue Shirin Delsooz said she brought to the city’s attention about a year ago, and felt it still hasn’t been addressed in budget talks.
"I don’t know why they totally ignored my 625 signature petition," said Delsooz, a cyclist advocate.
She started a petition about 10 months ago, calling for safer bike paths in the city.
"This is not just an issue of our children like it’s an issue, it’s fighting for homeless people, it’s …
High-end kids’ bikes maker opens up its Austin shop
Asher Price | www.axios.com
A global bike brand whose U.S. headquarters are in Austin will open its showroom for the first time this Saturday.
The big picture: Woom and some other companies that specialize in lightweight, high-end bikes for kids are quietly revolutionizing how children learn to cycle.

Texas 4000 riders pass through Whistler en route to Alaska
Megan Lalonde | www.piquenewsmagazine.com

Schlechte never made it to the starting line, after tragically passing away in 2019.
“I kind of applied to finish what he started and take on his mission; ride for the family friends he had who were affected by cancer and showed him so much kindness when he …

Haya Panjwani | www.houstonpublicmedia.org
Air Alliance Houston is setting up riders with bikes equipped with air monitors that detect volatile organic compounds, nitrogen dioxides and particulate matter that can affect residents’ health.
The effects can currently be seen in residents of the area, according to the alliance.
”They also contribute to a generalized array of what is generally experienced as the most common experienced symptoms of air pollution exposure, so breathing problems, heart and lung complications, asthma," said Anthony DeSouza, the alliance’s research and policy coordinator.
The hardware the bikes will be using is a battery powered air monitor. It’ll be able to …
