GoPro Burps, A Few Other Cyclists, 200 Mile Week
The earliest start of the week today rolling away at 7:47 AM. I rode the usual Saturday route, “Atascocita – Huffman – Walden”, hoping to see some other cyclists. A few passed me on the east side of Lake Houston but I think some of the regulars were saving their legs for the Katy Flatland Century tomorrow. Sadly my GoPro froze when I wanted to record the cyclists I did see only catching one on Old Atascocita Road of the 6 I saw. My Cervelo Caledonia was the bike for today’s ride going 33.23 miles.
At the beginning of the ride I needed 16 miles to hit 200+ for the week and I reached that mark. This route is a busy one for me with 14 rides so far in 2022. Nothing new about the roads but I change the order on some to get to FM 1960 quicker than when I ride the “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” route. I moved to some side streets off of Atascocita Shores Drive today adding a little to the distance by the time I got to FM 1960.
It was humid at the start with the temperature in the mid 70’s. It dropped by the time I finished at 10:19 but I was still soaked with sweat. Wind wasn’t a factor and my legs did well. Weather conditions: start 76 (humidity 99%, dew point 76), a few clouds, wind N 5 mph; finish 87 (humidity 69%, dew point 76), partly cloudy, wind S 4 mph.
Looking at the AXS.SRAM.com ride report I used the 35×13 gears the most time at 1:30:00 (21.7 miles) out of the total riding time of 2:25:54. I changed the RD 25 times over the ride.
