Thursday’s bike ride returned to Huffman to the south and east. I started a few minutes earlier than yesterday at 8:44 AM and finished at 11:21 AM. The route was my “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” with a short addition south on FM 2100 to Spanish Cove Drive where the traffic light helped me make the u-turn back to the north. I rode on my Cervelo Caledonia bike covering 35.09 miles. This was the 16th time biking this route in 2022 and longer than usual with the Spanish Cove Drive addition. Two other cyclists passed me riding west on Old Atascocita Road (see the video) which is unusual for Thursday. I decided to not ride the side streets north of FM 1960 west of Huffman. Maybe the time.

The weather is letting up a little today by probably not reaching 100 degrees. The starting temperature was 82 compared to the mid 80’s on other rides this week. The wind was not much of an issue or headwind. Strava said this ride was consistent with my other efforts and I agree. My legs handled the wind well. Weather conditions: start 82 (humidity 79%, dew point 75), mostly cloudy, wind N 0 mph; finish 89 (humidity 59%, dew point 73), partly cloudy, wind N 6 mph. Possibility of rain later today. My yard needs it. When I emptied my CamelBak after the ride a few ice cubes remained reflecting the slightly cooler weather. I was still soaked with sweat at the end of the ride though.
