JUAREZ—Dozens of cyclists move forward in organized chaos alongside the channelized Rio Bravo. Within sight of the steel wall topped with concertina wire that divides Mexico from the United States, they reveled in the miles-long concrete expanse, blasting music, sprinting, pulling wheelies.
The Bastards Border Cycling Club celebrates Juárez arts and culture through cycling. The collective formed in May 2021, when a group of college friends with a shared love of bikes started organizing weekly rides. Nacogdoches police seeking information on fatal hit-and-run

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) – The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating a what they believe is a hit-and-run incident that left one person dead.
According to a social media post by the department, officers were dispatched to a scene in the 3300 block of Old Tyler Road around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. A passing motorist had alerted authorities that an adult male was laying next to the roadway. Upon arrival, officers said they found the man dead from injuries sustained during what they believe was a hit-and-run. The appears to have been riding a bicycle before he was hit.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area for now.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the Nacogdoches Police Department at (936) 559-2607.

TxDOT to upgrade rural roads across five Central Texas counties

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Upgrading Central Texas’ rural roads and connecting the community is the goal behind TxDOT’s Rural Transportation Improvement Program or TIP.
The program will focus projects in Blanco, Gillespie, Llano, Lee and Mason counties from 2023 through 2026. TxDOT will have four years to fund the projects for highways, transit services, train or pedestrian and bicycle improvements. …
Battleground Bike Tours

Stretch your legs and honor the memory of the Texas Revolution with a bike ride at the battleground. Meet by the entrance to the San Jacinto Monument, between the Reflection Pool and the Monument, on Saturday, May 14, for a free guided bike tour of the Birthplace of Texas. Tours begin at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and last for two hours. Most of the route is flat with two small hills, all on paved roads.
Bicycling experience is a plus but not required. Beginners are welcome.
The program will be cancelled in case of bad weather or if there are no participants 15 minutes after the start time.

Video: 4000 Bike Ride for Cancer rolls through Midland

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) -On June 3rd, the Texas 4000 bike ride for cancer began in Austin, Texas. Today they biked through Midland.
The Texas 400 is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world, and its purpose is to raise money for cancer research and for those affected by cancer.
The cross-continental journey will take place over two whole months, 70 days total, and end in Anchorage, Alaska.
The riders are on their way to Jal, New Mexico. One of them is a Midland native.
“But I really wanted to put myself in a position where I could impact others,” rider Anuj Mocherla said. “But most importantly inspire hope in the communities that sometimes don’t have any.”
The bike ride consists of a group of 50 college students from around the country like Anuj, who are all passionate about the fight against cancer
