A Basic, No Frills Bike Ride
A basic bike ride today with no racing distraction to delay the start. The Cervelo Caledonia and I rolled away at 9:23 AM to ride the “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” route. I hoped to ride far enough to get the week’s total to 150 miles and I did biking 33.60 miles by the time I finished at 11:54 AM. Earlier in the year most of my rides didn’t start before 11:54 AM.
Checking SportTracks this route is probably the one I bike the most often, 11 times so far in 2022.
The wind behaved by getting no stronger than 10 mph and the temperature was less than 90 when I finished. Weather conditions: start 79 (humidity 89%, dew point 75), mostly cloudy, wind NW 8 mph; finish 87 (humidity 67%, dew point 75), mostly cloudy, wind NW 10 mph. I may start using my Camelbak with the temperature getting close to 90 or above.
The AXS.SRAM.com ride report highlights: total moving time 2:26:31, 25 RD shifts, 35×13 riding time 1:25:17 (21.1 miles), 35×15 riding time 40:16 (8.5 miles). The light wind allowed me to use the 35×13 gears more.
