Waiting On Warm Weather. Zwift Meetup Watopia Flat Route
A chilly morning when I got up around 6:30 with 31 degrees. I hoped it would get to 60 degrees but around 10:30 it was just above 50. Not wanting to take a chance it would get to 60 I created a Zwift Meetup starting at 11:25 AM. The Watopia Flat Route looked good and I set the distance to 16 miles. According to ZwiftInsider.com a .3 mile lead-in before made the first lap 7 miles. The route basics from ZwiftInsider.com, “The Watopia “Flat Route” was added when Watopia’s Ocean Boulevard came online in late December 2015. It includes the undersea tunnel and marina sections, plus the back half of the original Hilly Route.” Today’s ride evened up the number of times I rode at 2 times on the Flat Route and 2 times on the Flat Route Reverse.
I wasn’t riding a fast pace but compared to the other rides I was closer than I expected. Twice on the route this month. I continued my string of riding days to 29, every day this month.
The weather forecast for tomorrow says the high could be in the mid 60’s. If that holds I plan a road ride. Starting after church will give time for it to warm up. That will be the first road ride since January 19th. I need 75 miles to reach my 300 road mile goal for January.
Strava top results for the ride: 2nd fastest time on Flat Route (21:01), 3rd fastest time on Flat Route (21:33), and 3rd fastest time on The Esses (Zwift Insider verified) (3:23).
