Finished In Rain, Stage 5 Tour de Zwift Group B Greater London Flat
47 degrees and rain outside. Time to ride stage 5 of the Tour de Zwift. Start time for Group B was 12:01 PM. I got everything ready and mounted my Blue Norcross AL to warm up for the start. In my haste I left my computer mouse on the desk out of reach. I use it to select various windows on the 2 desk monitors I use while Zwifting. Not a problem, using the Alt – Tab combination I got in the Zwift window to control the camera shots.
I guess it was fitting that I finished the stage in the London rain.
Strava picked me for 4 silver and 1 bronze medals for the ride.
The location for stage 5 was London and the route was Greater London Flat. I’ve done this route 3 times before but I think was the first time as part of the Tour de Zwift. It was two laps plus a lead-in for a total of 18.51 miles with 341 feet of climbing. Not exactly flat but no Box Hill climb and spread over the stage with no climbs above 3 or 4%. The lead-in was 3.5 miles and each lap 7.2 miles.
The “nearby Zwifters” counted 1319 near the finish. I rode in the 1180 to 1190 range after a quick start of the pen. Looking at ZwiftPower.com I finished 690 out of 737. Group A included 1217, Group C 476, and Group D (women only) 61.
