Rode All 3 Groups Stage 4 Tour de Zwift, Ended With Group C Today
Today I rode the Group C on stage 4 of the Tour de Zwift. I don’t think I’ve rode all the groups on a stage before but I have now. It wasn’t a long ride at 8.67 miles and 302 feet of climbing. I chose a gravel bike to ride the Watopia Jungle Circuit. Some people chose MTB’s but I thought I would try the gravel bike for the first time. I don’t know if it made a difference but it was good to try it out. Lots of dirt and dust on the route after riding part of long lead-in. The 302 ft. of climbing was mainly on one long climb. I didn’t do any shifting to a smaller gear for the climbing but I should’ve went to a bigger gear on the descent. For some reason I haven’t used the big front ring while Zwifting. I started out in the 170’s position, got passed by a few and moved to the 180’s, and finished in the 190’s. This was the second time riding the Jungle Circuit. The previous was 2/5/2021. I didn’t ride Group D because it is for women only.
In January I have rode every day so far, almost equally on the road (225.3 miles) and Zwift (224.4 miles).
Looking at ZwiftPower.com I was 107 out of 142 in group C. Group A shows 52 which much lower than I expected. But stage 4 is winding down for now. Group B 152, and group D 15.
I had a record on each of the 5 Strava segments, 3 gold and 2 bronze. The route profile looks more vertical in RideWithGPS.com.
