Zwift Roule Ma Poule (France) – ZRG CC Late Night Ride
Driving home from church the streets were wet and a light mist hit my windshield. Time for a Zwift bike ride. Since it was after noon I wasn’t sure I would find a group event but I did, The ZRG CC Late Night Roule Ma Poule in France. The event ran 60 minutes. Checking SportTracks I saw I rode this route last year on January 23rd. There would be some climbing but I felt my legs were up to it. Today I rode 16.03 miles ( 15.62 miles last year) and climbed 774 feet. Right from the start the climbing began and topped out around 2 miles. After that it was down and up with the last 1.4 miles going back up the same starting climb.
Most of the ride I was about in the middle of the group, around 68 to 70. The leader said the fence was available today so keeping the group together was a challenge. I think the last 3 or 4 miles I fell behind the group I was with and finished alone. A boxed came up after I finished telling me I was in the top 28% in my category. I was surprised but happy.
To go along with those results Strava showed 3 personal records: 3rd fastest time on Marina Sprint (43s), 3rd fastest time on Pavé Sprint (41s), and 3rd fastest time on Start Pens Lead-In to Petit KOM Banner (12:21). Not bad.
