Beloved cyclist ‘foreshadowed’ his own death on Texas roads

For decades Massachusetts native Kent Wosepka had dreamed of hopping on his bike for a cross-country ride. After pledging with a friend to make the ambitious trek nearly 20 years ago, Wosepka was finally able to realize part of that journey when he and fiancée Betsy O’Brien took off from San Diego on Sept. 13, pedaling through the southern U.S. on their way to St. Augustine, Florida.
All it took was one Texas driver to kill that dream and the 51-year-old man who friends say inspired nearly everyone met with his contagious positivity. Ganzar ends ‘surprise second sporting career’ due to lingering concussion symptoms

Former US Pro criterium champion Leigh Ann Ganzar (Rally Cycling) made it official Wednesday and announced her retirement from professional cycling, which she called a “surprise second sporting career that I never expected to go this far.â€
The 32-year-old Colorado native stormed into the national spotlight in 2018 when riding for a small Texas-based squad, Wolfpack-Hyperthreads, and outsprinted the late-Kelly Catlin, who was a three-time track world champion, to win the US Pro Criterium title in Knoxville, Tennessee.
