Mayor Don Warren, other city officials test out cycling lanes with Tyler Bicycle Club members

On a brisk Saturday morning, Tyler Mayor Don Warren and several city employees joined Tyler Bicycle Club members to test out the 36.6 miles of recently installed bike lanes across the city.
Suited up with a neon helmet, Warren said the best thing the lanes provide is connectivity between the universities, schools, downtown and the hospitals.
“It’s just connectivity throughout the entire city, which is something we’re very proud of,†he said.

6 cyclists injured after being struck by car in Liberty Co.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Multiple people were reportedly injured after being hit by a vehicle while they rode bicycles in Liberty County Saturday morning.
According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, six cyclists were hit as they traveled eastbound on Highway 787 at about 11 a.m.
The six cyclists were participating in an annual ride from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida when what authorities believe to be a Ford Focus struck the line of cyclists, according to Sheriff’s Patrol Cpl James W. McQueen.

Friday October 29, 2021, 55 miles (89 km) – Total so far: 1,236 miles (1,989 km) The morning started very cold. According to my neighbor, who has a thermometer, it was 38F. Packing up the tent took a lot of time and I was on my way at 10. At least, the wind was calm and I really enjoyed my alone time in the desert.
I posted a picture I thought was Agave lechuguilla, the indicator plant of ChiHuaHuan desert. It was not. So I intended to find the right plant. Unfortunately there weren’t many Agaves to be found. I was lucky to find two agave plants. But I don’t know if I find the right one.
About 10 miles before the camp ground, I got a flat. After determining it’s a slow leak, I pumped the tire every 3-4 miles till I reached the camp ground. …
