Sunday Afternoon Ride to Jesse Jones Park
A perfect day for a Sunday afternoon drive. In my case, a bike ride after church. The route went to Jesse Jones Park from Kingwood and back labeled “Spring Creek Greenway to Jesse Jones Park”. Starting at 1:35 PM and finishing at 3:26 PM the bike ride covered 23.44 miles putting the week’s total at 242.66 miles. This is the most miles in a week since the week ending July 5th, 2020, when I biked 244.66 miles. April now totals 381.6 miles, 64% of the way to my 600 mile goal. Bike ride each day of the week made this possible. The week’s summary.
Humidity this low is very unusual for Houston. That and the temperature in the 80’s made this a perfect bike ride day. After two days of strong wind it let up today. Weather conditions: start 80 (26% humidity, 41.8 dew point), fair, wind SE 7 mph; finish 84 (24% humidity, 43.1 dew point), fair, wind E 5 mph. The dew point spread to the temperature helped. I wore shorts and a short sleeve jersey. Early this morning when I got up it was 47 degrees. A big swing by ride time.
Stopping along the shore of the lake in Kingwood I took this photo on the way back home.
I didn’t set out to get any personal records during the ride but Strava tallied 4: 3 personal records and a 2nd fastest time.
