Construction imminent for Longhorn Dam bridge

The Austin Transportation Department decided last month on Longhorn Dam’s new bike and pedestrian bridge, which is designed to increase safety on Pleasant Valley Road and connect trails and parks in the area.
The bridge’s design is “wishbone style†and will be located near Guerrero Park on Pleasant Valley Road. After removing the current pedestrian bridge, new walkways will connect Holly Shores Park, Longhorn Shores Park and the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. The bridge is expected to be completed in 2025.

It appears the Baytown YMCA Gator Ride 2021 on March 6th is cancelled. The page on the YMCAHouston.org website is not there and the registration on Active.com is closed. A friend that worked at a rest stop last year said it was cancelled.

BURNET, TX — Sunday kicked off the 10th annual interscholastic mountain bike racing season with the Reveille Peak Roundup in Burnet.
600 student racers from throughout Texas battling the elements as they make their way to the finish line.
