Biking South Gets Wet Again
Another bike ride attempt heading south thwarted by rain. That makes three attempts to go south and rain got my number starting last Saturday. I planned on riding the “Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman” route but only rode as far as the W. Lake Houston Parkway bridge over Bens Branch Bayou where I stayed for about 30 minutes until the rain slowed down. I did bike 11.25 miles to make an official ride by my definition of 10 miles or more. Maybe watching the Vuelta a Burgos on flobikes.com before starting the bike ride didn’t allow me to get ahead of the rain.
As I rode to the south dark clouds hung on the horizon waiting for me to get in position with no where to hide or get out of the rain. I decided to loop under W. Lake Houston Parkway at Ben’s Branch Bayou and stopped as the rain started. Maybe Wednesday I can complete a bike ride going south? At least I reached my July mileage goal yesterday.
Weather conditions at the 10:51 AM start and the 12:28 PM finish: start 82 (94% humidity, 80.3 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind N 6 mph. Finish 77 (99% humidity, 76.7 dew point), thunderstorms rain fog, wind S 5 mph.
