Bicyclist shot in church parking lot near Tomball, suspect in custody

An apparent disagreement between a driver and a bicyclist at a Tomball-area gas station turned violent early Thursday morning, police said.
The 28-year-old bicyclist was at a service station at Spring Cypress and Hufsmith-Korhville roads where he and a man in a red Honda car started arguing, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy A. Hinojosa. The man pedaled away, but the driver apparently chased him down to a nearby church parking lot, Hinojosa said.

Tomato Festival cancelled, some October events still on for now

Jacksonville Tomato Festival is the latest event to be canceled by the coronavirus pandemic.
Planners of the East Texas event that usually coincides with the Texas Blueberry Festival in June originally opted to reschedule it for September but on Wednesday announced its cancellation until 2021.
