Corpus Christi police seek driver who hit, injured 2 on bicycle

Corpus Christi police are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect in a hit and run involving two people on a bicycle.
About 12:23 a.m. June 3, police were called to the 3700 block of Ayers Street for a crash, according to a department news release.
The caller told authorities the driver of a black car hit a bicycle and drove off.

A new ranking was just released from PeopleForBikes, a nonprofit devoted to making cycling safer for everyone, and Austin rides in at No. 20.
That might sound impressive, especially when you consider 567 cities were analyzed to get these rankings, but it’s not quite the accolade that it first appears.

Each member of the Houston Police Department’s Kingwood Bicycle Patrol has years of traditional patrol experience prior to joining the bike squad. “The Houston Bike Plan includes the series of existing trails in Kingwood, reflecting feedback provided by Kingwood-area residents during our planning effort,†said Anna Sedillo, communications coordinator for the City of Houston’s Planning and Development Department. “Some of the feedback we heard from Kingwood residents was to better connect Kingwood to the rest of Houston as well as to the Kingwood Park and Ride on West Lake Houston Parkway and the Townsen Park and Ride in Humble.â€
