Carrot and Stick? No, Apple Fritter and Stick
I tried to get started before 10 AM but little things sidetracked me so the bike ride started at 10:04 AM. I will try harder tomorrow. The Lynskey R300 and I set out on the “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” route for the 20th time this year, 8 times on the Lynskey R300 and 12 times on the Canyon Endurace. The route covered 33.08 miles today boosting my week and month total to 139.12 miles, 17% of the way to my goal for June.
One of the things that sidetracked my start was moving the GoPro camera from below the bike computer to the handlebar stem. I am not sure I didn’t try this before since I had the mount for many months. The reason I moved it was in anticipation of the new GoPro frame arriving today that will raise the position by 1/2″ with the mic adapter slot under the frame. Also It is easier to push the record button now and I can hear the beeps from the camera.
The rubber band is temporary until the new frame arrives. I remembered to go into the settings and change the “touch screen” lock position so the video would be upright. This saves time after the bike ride. The rolling video studio continues to evolve.
Weather was much better than yesterday with no rain and warming up as the ride progressed. I wore shorts, short sleeve jersey, and sunscreen. I kept the Tickr Fit on my right forearm to give my left forearm more time in the sun to tan the strip where the Tickr Fit was. During the bike ride: start 82 (86% humidity, 77.8 dew point), partly cloudy, wind W 5 mph. Finish 90 (65% humidity, 76.7 dew point), partly cloudy, wind variable 5 mph.
The apple fritter reward for completing today’s bike ride came from Pat’s Donuts on yesterday’s ride. I showed will power by not eating it yesterday.
