Big Week, Big Month of Bike Rides
Other than biking to the north when I started at 1:54 PM I wasn’t sure what streets or roads I bike on. Starting in Kingwood I rode to Royal Brook, Country Colony and then transitioned to Ford Road. Staying on Ford Road all the way to US59 and then north to Community Drive I decided to label today’s route: “Kingwood – Community Drive – Valley Ranch”. I looked at previous rides to see if I rode this particular route before and couldn’t find any. With the road repair work to the south I will be biking more to the north than usual.
The weather was fabulous: start 81 (36% humidity, 51.9 dew point), a few clouds, wind E 8 mph. Finish 83 (37% humidity, 54.5 dew point), a few clouds, wind NE 6 mph. My choice of attire: shorts and a short sleeve jersey. With the gentle wind I didn’t really fight it. Pedaling the Lynskey R300 moved me through wind empowering me to get my average speed up to 14.2 mph. The powerwash bug infected more people today along the bike ride.
I checked my weekly biking miles as far back as 2017 to see if I biked more miles in a week than this week’s 262.12 miles and none came up. Today’s 26.35 miles put me beyond my previous week totals. April totals 839.28 miles, the highest month since July 2019.
