Bike Ride to Roman Forest Blvd Trying Out Favero Pedals
After giving a first ride with the PowerPod V3 yesterday I changed to my Canyon Endurace for the first ride with the Favero Assioma UNO power meter pedals. The weather was supposed to warm up to 78 but during the bike ride it never got that warm. Thankfully I dressed for 69 to 71 and stayed comfortable during the bike ride.
The Assioma pedals were super easy to setup. After about 10 to 15 turns of the crank power readings started showing up on my Elemnt computer. The UNO is on the left pedal only which is enough for me. I bought them directly from Favero Electronics in Italy. It took about a week to get to me via FedEx. This saved about $100 from buying in the US. After I installed the pedals on the Canyon Endurace in order to activate them I installed the app on my phone, spun the crank a few times to turn the pedal on, searched in the app for the pedal. Once the app connected to the pedal I filled information about me and the bike. Before riding I calibrated the pedal and that was it. The hardest part is getting used to the Look style cleats and clipping into the pedals. After many years of Shimano pedals and cleats the movement is different. Look at the power curves at my Strava activity page or the SportTracks activity page. The Wahoo phone app has charts on about every aspect of power: power, pedal smoothness, torque effectiveness.
