Texas Biking News February 17th 2020
Seems like the scene is down around here

- Texas Cup points competition canceled for 2020. They say it will be back for 2021, in new format. But this is where they kept track of standings for the different events to determine individual and team winners in different categories.
- One of the 3 weeknight crits was just canceled due to lack of venue.
- The opening circuit race canceled this year due to road closure.
- Opening RR/crit/TT of the season. 9 competitors in the 40+.
And you go down the list further and it seems like things are trending down in the North Texas area. Maybe it will bounce back. 50+ is better than 40+ now, my friend’s theory is that the Lance Armstrong effect has now officially aged out and there is no next generation.

Temperatures in Austin, Texas were forecast to be in the high 70’s. For February, that’s warm. Old friend Rhodney invited me to …
