Tour de Zwift: Stage 5 (B) Group Ride – Park Perimeter Loop
Lining up for the start at 12:01 PM the Group B riders pulled away from the start line on the 12.1 mile route through NYC Central Park. In Houston the weather outside was overcast and 49 degrees but it would heat up inside as I rode the Wahoo Kickr Snap smart trainer up down some hills. The hills didn’t seem quite as difficult today versus the Stage 5 race yesterday. On Tour de Zwift Group Rides Group D disappears so I rode in Group B with Group C reserved for women.
Just before the ride began FedEx rang my doorbell to deliver my new Lynskey R300 bike. I pulled the box inside and will open it later this afternoon. An unboxing video will follow. Good timing so I didn’t need to interrupt the group ride.
Zwift reported 1113 riders across all of the groups with 332 in Group B. I finished at 154th in 35:01, 1 second behind the rider in front and 1 second ahead of the rider behind. I set a new personal record for NY Sprint at 13:09 seconds. Zwiftpower.com put me in 87th place among the riders registered there. I am now at level 14 in Zwift and building my garage items.
