  1. How do you like your r300. I ordered one in early March right before covid took over in the states. Still waiting on it.

  2. I like it. The ride is different from my Canyon Endurace. It came with an 11×34 cassette which I exchanged for an 11×25. The 11×34 was too different from the Canyon. Now they are much closer in gearing. The R300 rides smoothly over bumps and the 33mm wide tires absorb them. I needed to get used to the handlebar shape being round versus the aero shape on the Canyon. The Canyon is my priamry bike with the R300 as next in line. I usually ride the Canyon 2 days and the R300 the third day. I have about 900 miles on the R300.

  3. I am actually trying to decide between your two bikes! I have a 1998 Litespeed so used to titanium but trying to decide between r300 and a canyons ultimate or endurance. Can you note any ride quality differences you have experienced? I mainly ride about 25mi/day in an urban environment.

    For urban biking I would suggest the Lynskey R300. It absorbs rough roads with wider tires and lower tire pressure. I run around 83 psi on 700x32mm tires (it came with 700x30mm tires) versus the Canyon Endurace 700x28mm at 90 psi. I think the titanium handles nicely. I have almost 20,000 miles on my Canyon compared to 2,785 on the Lynskey but I’ve been riding the Canyon since February 2018 versus January 2020 for the R300. I generally ride the Canyon 2 days and the R300 1 day rotations. The one difference I notice the most is the handlebars. The Canyon has the H31 aero handlebars while the Lynskey standard round bars. My fingers wrap around the H31 and not touch but do on the round bars. I believe the current Endurace doesn’t use the H31 bars now according to the photos I saw.

    I ride suburban to rural roads and enjoy both bikes. The Canyon seems to jump more when I pedal hard but maybe that is just in my mind. If you get the R300 I would recommend the internal cabling for ease of cleaning and cable protection. Mine has external cables, the Endurace is internal cables. I like the smooth look of the Canyon, easier to wipe down after the ride.

    It is a tough choice. I bought the R300 because I never owned a titanium bike before. I don’t regret the purchase except now I have to decide which bike to ride. With 1 bike the choice is made for me. I have another bike, Blue Norcross AL, dedicated to my Zwift setup on a Wahoo Kicker Snap trainer.

  5. Thanks Rick! I’m finding it to be a difficult choice and your experience is helpful. I don’t think the internal cables is an option except on the highest series Lynskey, but I may ask about that. Also it has been hard to find the canyon in stock and they have a new Ultimate model soon to be released that I may wait to consider!

  6. Rick I ended up going with a Canyon Endurace- it has been a great bike for the first 100 miles! Happy with my choice! Don’t think I leave any performance on the table choosing carbon over Ti but maybe down the road like you I’ll look to a Ti gravel or adventure bike! Thanks again for your insight on this topic.

  7. Just got my Lynskey GR300 today. Can’t wait to get in a few rides. I’m new to the Houston area, up at Woodforest in Montgomery county. I’m still trying to find safe routes and/or other riders in this area. I’ll leave a review of the GR300 after a few rides. Most of the rides will be asphalt.

  8. Congratulations on your new Lynskey GR300. You might look at some of the fire roads in the Sam Houston National Forest by Huntsville and Coldspring if you want to ride some gravel. There is a gravel ride Saturday in Huntsville. You can see more information at the Texabiker event calendar.
    I have a Lynskey Helix on order but it is delayed waiting for some components. I plan on selling the R300 when it gets here.
