Zwifting Around Innsbruckring with ZHCC
I waited and waited for the temperature to get above 60 but as my time window shrunk I opted to go Zwifting instead of riding outdoors. Looking for a start time and length that agreed with my time window I chose the ZHCC Sub 2.0 Ride around Innsbruckring. The ride started at 12:15 PM and lasted 60 minutes. My time window revolved around the 3:00 PM start of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball game with Tulane and the Houston Texans playoff game at 3:30 PM.
As the start time neared I opened the software to livestream on Twitch.TV/texbiker, got my bike ready, fan connected and waited for the gun. I used a wireless keyboard to control the various camera angles during the ride.
Somehow the group got away from me at the start so I grabbed the wheel of another rider and increased my w/kg above 2.0 to catch them. Slowly we passed a few riders but it took the 9% climb that we did 3 times during the ride to slow everyone else down enough to get in the front group. This ride didn’t show my position among the group but the leader said the group consisted of 402 riders. Once I got to the main group I stayed there and I think I stayed behind the fence except for 1 time for a couple of seconds. With the aerodynamic relief you get riding in a group I backed off of the w/kg but up until that time my ride was anything but sub 2.0 w/kg.
Sunday the weather will warm up and the sun remains. Great for outdoor biking after church.
