Those Zwift ads on TV make it look so simple!! Not for me.
I am still trying to get a Zwift workout to start up smoothly without any problems. I thought today was going to be the day but not the case.
Opening the Zwift app I selected an event with what I thought was plenty of time before starting. This allowed me to get the Blue Norcross AL setup, water bottle with ice, position the fan, pair the sensors, get dressed, mount my phone on the handlebar, and be ready at the start. I selected a group ride for experience and staying together.
Dressed and ready to go the internet went offline about 5 minutes before the start. This caused all of the sensors to go haywire it seems. It came back after my ride started but not too late so I got on the Blue and pedaled away only to see the cadence sensor wasn’t connected. I knew the battery was around 37% but I thought it was enough for the ride, wrong. I pulled out a new battery, inserted it into the sensor but it wouldn’t connect to Zwift event though the blue LED blinked. I tried several times to get it working and then unplugged the Wahoo Kickr Snap trainer hoping that would work. It fixed it and back on the bike but now I was a lap behind.
Then I remembered I forgot to start the OBS program to record the ride. Off the bike again to start OBS and back on the bike. Those Zwift ads on TV make it look so simple!! Not for me.
The good news, I rode 21.11 miles which put me over my 50 mile goal for the month. 50 miles wasn’t that much but the way the weather has been for road biking I thought it was realistic. Tuesday’s weather forecast looks favorable to return to the outdoors.
